Jinja is the Japanese word for shrine. Today for the first time I visited the Minamisawa Hikawa Shrine, a five minute walk from my apartment building. It had a serene and peaceful feeling and shrines are fast becoming my favorite places to take pictures. It was also such a beautiful experience to see some of the senior citizens in the community coming to the shrine to pray and pay their respects to their ancestors. I went with my friend Ruth and she was able to get some great shots of me! Check them out below!

P.S. – I will be getting my own domain very very very soon! I think its time to expand my blog and brand and I’ll definitely enjoy playing with different layouts 🙂
Today is Sunday, and the first day I’ve had completely to myself this whole month. I took today to de-stress and have a #SelfCareSunday, which included making a nice meal for myself, taking a nap, watching reruns of trash reality TV shows and of purging my closet of summer clothes I’m not in love with or that were impulse buys that I now regret. I took the discarded clothing over to Hard Off, a Japanese chain of thrift stores that sells used clothing for very cheap prices. I took in two pairs of shoes, three dresses, two bags, a jacket, a pair of shorts and a hat, and got a grand total of 590 yen. If you’re looking to get rich off of your old clothing, selling to thrift stores is definitely not the place to do it and I learned that today. I was a little shocked at first at how little money I received but overall it felt good to get rid of things that don’t bring me joy by wearing them. After the purge, I went over to Treasure Factory, another thrift store nearby my apartment. It has a way better selection and I found some treasures that I’m absolutely in love with! Check them out below!
So hey guys I just recently got back from my vacation in Phuket 🇹🇭! It was awesome and much needed. Along the way I met some really nice people, tried new things and tried to look as bomb as I could without screaming “tourist” with my fits. I don’t usually invest in summer clothing because it’s just not my season for fashion and so the annual H&M 70% sale was a godsend. I bought so many tips and shorts at amazing prices like ¥500 yen a piece! These are some pictures of what I wore during my six days in Thailand!
So yesterday was my 23rd birthday! I celebrated all weekend but on my actual birthday (which is on a Monday) I was in what I like to call “blissful retail solitude” in the hip neighborhood of Shimokita, where I picked up some birthday presents for myself. I have pictures for you to see what I picked up!
Separate post coming on my weekend and what I wore!
Today was a good day. Good outfit, good movie, good company, good laughs, everything was just peachy 🍑! I’ve been dying to wear this shirt I got on sale at a Zara in Shibuya, but it was thoroughly annoying when the top ruffle kept blowing in the wind and exposing my goodies to the streets of Shinjuku. I had some help from Erwan to keep my shirt down and he took some great pics of me. Check them out below!
PS: I looove wearing pink now, I never knew how good I could look in it! Now on the lookout for different shades 🎀.
As a serial impulsive shopper, I buy many garments that I simply never have worn or will never have any use for. I’ve been trying to stop this type of behavior because 1) Tokyo is expensive and 2) I’m trying to downsize my closet. I decided to create Depop shop (username is plaitwoman) with some items that I have no use for or that I don’t wear. I also posted these items on Facebook for sale groups located in the Tokyo region for more exposure. I plan on posting these items on eBay as well, but if you’re interested in purchasing anything feel free to email me at email@example.com. Check out some of the items in my closet below!
Hey there everyone, finally time for a new ootd post! Yesterday, I attended the Night Aquarium, an event where art, water and fish all come together to create beautiful artfully designed aquariums. I will post more about the event later but this is what I wore:
