OOTD: Jinja

Jinja is the Japanese word for shrine. Today for the first time I visited the Minamisawa Hikawa Shrine, a five minute walk from my apartment building. It had a serene and peaceful feeling and shrines are fast becoming my favorite places to take pictures. It was also such a beautiful experience to see some of the senior citizens in the community coming to the shrine to pray and pay their respects to their ancestors. I went with my friend Ruth and she was able to get some great shots of me! Check them out below!

Latest Treasure Factory Haul

Today is Sunday, and the first day I’ve had completely to myself this whole month. I took today to de-stress and have a #SelfCareSunday, which included making a nice meal for myself, taking a nap, watching reruns of trash reality TV shows and of purging my closet of summer clothes I’m not in love with or that were impulse buys that I now regret. I took the discarded clothing over to Hard Off, a Japanese chain of thrift stores that sells used clothing for very cheap prices. I took in two pairs of shoes, three dresses, two bags, a jacket, a pair of shorts and a hat, and got a grand total of 590 yen. If you’re looking to get rich off of your old clothing, selling to thrift stores is definitely not the place to do it and I learned that today. I was a little shocked at first at how little money I received but overall it felt good to get rid of things that don’t bring me joy by wearing them. After the purge, I went over to Treasure Factory, another thrift store nearby my apartment. It has a way better selection and I found some treasures that I’m absolutely in love with! Check them out below!

Saw the sleeves on this shirt from across the store and ran.

The LBD. I have five now, including this one. This particular frock is See by Chloe and 100% silk πŸ™‚

I envision this vintage purse paired with a clean white shirt tucked into high waist jeans and some tortoise shell sunglasses.
Snagged this brand new Opening Ceremony tee for just a third of the retail price!

APC Long sleeve that gives a slight nautical feel.

My looks from PhuketΒ

So hey guys I just recently got back from my vacation in Phuket πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡! It was awesome and much needed. Along the way I met some really nice people, tried new things and tried to look as bomb as I could without screaming “tourist” with my fits. I don’t usually invest in summer clothing because it’s just not my season for fashion and so the annual H&M 70% sale was a godsend. I bought so many tips and shorts at amazing prices like Β₯500 yen a piece! These are some pictures of what I wore during my six days in Thailand!

ASOS black jeans, H&M tank, clout googles
H&M top, skirt and earrings
Swimsuit from Forever 21, sunglasses are Calvin Klein
Shorts: American Apparel, Top: Zara
Shorts: American Apparel, Swimsuit, Earrings: H&M, Sandals: Teva, Clout goggles

Birthday Goodies Haul

So yesterday was my 23rd birthday! I celebrated all weekend but on my actual birthday (which is on a Monday) I was in what I like to call “blissful retail solitude” in the hip neighborhood of Shimokita, where I picked up some birthday presents for myself. I have pictures for you to see what I picked up!

The perfect white shirt. The folded picture doesn’t do it justice. Can’t wait to reveal this Issey Miyake masterpiece in an OOTD post coming at ya soon πŸ‘€
I saw this in a vintage store in Shimokita and didn’t think twice. This was meant to be mine and I’m saving it to wear in the fall πŸ‘»
This sterling silver piece was so gorgeous I had to purchase it even though I usually don’t like spending more than Β₯500 on a piece of jewelry. Maybe this will inspire me to be a rich bitch and invest in more expensive jewelry!
My first YSL purchase! *insert Young Thug ad lib* this vintage clutch will go really well with an all white outfit and cost only Β₯5000!

Gorgeous see through vintage shirt perfect for this hot Japanese sun β˜€οΈ

Separate post coming on my weekend and what I wore!

OOTD: Pretty in PinkΒ

Today was a good day. Good outfit, good movie, good company, good laughs, everything was just peachy πŸ‘! I’ve been dying to wear this shirt I got on sale at a Zara in Shibuya, but it was thoroughly annoying when the top ruffle kept blowing in the wind and exposing my goodies to the streets of Shinjuku. I had some help from Erwan to keep my shirt down and he took some great pics of me. Check them out below!

PS: I looove wearing pink now, I never knew how good I could look in it! Now on the lookout for different shades πŸŽ€.

My Depop Shop

As a serial impulsive shopper, I buy many garments that I simply never have worn or will never have any use for. I’ve been trying to stop this type of behavior because 1) Tokyo is expensive and 2) I’m trying to downsize my closet. I decided to create Depop shop (username is plaitwoman) with some items that I have no use for or that I don’t wear. I also posted these items on Facebook for sale groups located in the Tokyo region for more exposure. I plan on posting these items on eBay as well, but if you’re interested in purchasing anything feel free to email me at uzochi_okoronkwo@yahoo.com. Check out some of the items in my closet below!
