Hidden Gem: Blind Whino

This past Saturday I was lucky enough to participate in a community service event held by the organizers of Broccoli City Festival in order to earn a discounted ticket to the festival. We made over 800 lunches for the less fortunate and it was a great feeling to be a part of a movement to end hunger in DC and surrounding areas. What made it even better was the venue where the event was held, a concert hall called the Blind Whino. Complete with an art gallery it was one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve seen in DC. Concert of Valor

Yesterday I got the chance to make some money helping out with the Concert of Valor, a concert in DC for the veterans. Some of the acts included Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Metallica, and the Black Keys. Didn’t get that close to the stage but I have a funny picture of my friend Maddie that reminded me of Cousin It from the Addams Family so there’s that 😂.
