My new Tokyo apartment!

So hey everyone! I finally moved to Tokyo yayyyy! I’ve been here for two weeks and I’ve spent this time setting up my apartment and getting accustomed to the neighborhood. After all of the cardboard, plastic wrap and unpacked bags, I finally have everything the way I want it. Check out my crib in the pics below!

Loving this clothing rack! It’s always been my dream to have one in my apartment. It was bought as a gift by my Japanese mom, Noriko. It’s the perfect way for me to plan my outfits and see different shapes and patterns come together.
My T.V. area. Peep the BAPE towel! There was a JLo video playing in this picture lol

My casual clothes. I tried to organize everything by color. Excited for fall so I can wear my crazy button downs.
This is my computer and book storage area. Cute, ain’t it? Let’s hope it will encourage me to study Japanese harder 😂
Another cork board with some messages from my students 🌸✨
bed.
Bathroom, not fancy but it gets the job done.
Look at my snacks!
My genkan. It’s customary in japan to remove your shoes here before entering a home.
Shoe closet!

See ya soon, I’ll be posting about some new gear I’ve bought since moving. Ciao ☕️

Collaboration: Shopspring.com x Plaitwoman

Hello all! Here is a special outfit of the day post, a collab with shopspring.com a retail hub for some of the most sought after brands and trendiest labels. The theme was spring, which usually means bright colors, maxi skirts and sandals, but knowing me, I would find a way to break the mold of what a typical spring outfit looks like. For this fit, I choose to go all black and create a breathable yet chic outfit. I started with a mock neck fitted dress from American Apparel, which I layered with  a FILA mesh overshirt. I finished it off with my PLAY by Comme des Garcons Converse sneakers and Ray-Ban sunglasses. Living proof that you can wear black in the summer time and still stay cool. Check out https://www.shopspring.com/ for great deals on some of the hottest labels!

My first casino experience

so this past Saturday I stepped into a casino for the first time and it happened to be the Horseshoe casino in Baltimore. We originally stopped at a bar in Baltimore but go there so late, we decided to hit the casino afterwards. Me and my friend Morgan got there around 3 am (after retrieving her lost ID and debit card from a Good Samaritan at a local 7-11) and it was packed full of people. Overall the experience was a bit uncomfortable because of the Afro wig I was wearing which got me a lot of unwanted attention. Besides that I won 17 dollars, a small victory for a girl who thinks casinos are a scam and waste of money. Check out some pictures I snapped below and have a great rest of the week!

Note: I took a lot of pictures of the chandeliers, I just found them so beautiful. Also stay tuned for an update of my Japan trip and essential items I’m bringing with me! 😊

Hidden Gem: Blind Whino

This past Saturday I was lucky enough to participate in a community service event held by the organizers of Broccoli City Festival in order to earn a discounted ticket to the festival. We made over 800 lunches for the less fortunate and it was a great feeling to be a part of a movement to end hunger in DC and surrounding areas. What made it even better was the venue where the event was held, a concert hall called the Blind Whino. Complete with an art gallery it was one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve seen in DC. Take a look at some of the pics I took!

OOTD: no more parties in D.C.

Todays fit is definitely inspired by Kanye (I’m aware how much of a douche bag he is but I cannot deny his contributions to the fashion industry). The thing I’m starting to notice though, is the over saturated use of this aesthetic, and at happy hour yesterday I saw two other people wearing the same jacket as me 😑. I definitely won’t stop wearing this bomber but will consider styling it in a way more unique to myself.
