My new Tokyo apartment!

So hey everyone! I finally moved to Tokyo yayyyy! I’ve been here for two weeks and I’ve spent this time setting up my apartment and getting accustomed to the neighborhood. After all of the cardboard, plastic wrap and unpacked bags, I finally have everything the way I want it. Check out my crib in the pics below!

Loving this clothing rack! It’s always been my dream to have one in my apartment. It was bought as a gift by my Japanese mom, Noriko. It’s the perfect way for me to plan my outfits and see different shapes and patterns come together.
My T.V. area. Peep the BAPE towel! There was a JLo video playing in this picture lol

My casual clothes. I tried to organize everything by color. Excited for fall so I can wear my crazy button downs.
This is my computer and book storage area. Cute, ain’t it? Let’s hope it will encourage me to study Japanese harder πŸ˜‚

bed.
Bathroom, not fancy but it gets the job done.
Look at my snacks!
My genkan. It’s customary in japan to remove your shoes here before entering a home.
Shoe closet!

See ya soon, I’ll be posting about some new gear I’ve bought since moving. Ciao β˜•οΈ

OOTD: BBC

I went to Nakamura Park for the first time today. This is significant because Iv’e lived Β a one minute walk away from this park for nine months but have never been inside. I went with my co-worker Shawn, who obliged me by taking pictures for an OOTD. I apologize for my lack of posts, I’ve been very busy at work and have lost a little creative drive. I will try to post more regularly in the future.

OOTD: Animalia

Back from vacation in Tokyo with lots of new posts to upload. The first is an OOTD with some inspiration from animal prints. I paired a leopard skirt and a snakeskin shirt together for the ultimate ode to the animal kingdom. The shirt is APC and I found it in a used clothing shop for 9 dollars! The sunglasses are ASOS (old) and the skirt is from GU, a popular Japanese clothing brand similar to H&M. The earrings are also from ASOS and are Swarovski Crystals (a Christmas present to myself). Here are the photos below! (thank God for the self timer setting on cameras πŸ™‚

Travel: Little Big World Museum of Man

Today, I had the opportunity to visit one of the most unique museums I’ve ever seen, with one of my awesome students! This outdoor museum has traditional homes from all over the world, from countries like Burkina Faso, Italy, Peru and Indonesia. There were a lot of great gift shops, where I was able to enjoy a bit of Christmas shopping, while also picking up some souvenirs for myself. I really enjoyed the Peru landlord structure the most and the murals and furniture were absolutely a dream. Here are some photos I took, enjoy!

OOTD: Tradition

Hey guys, I’m back with a new OOTD, that includes a traditional Japanese garment I hacked into a skirt. The Haramaki is used by the Japanese for warmth in the abdomen area. Me being me, I turned it into a pencil skirt and paired it with a cK sports bra and my cK vintage jean jacket. I also added a new patch to my jacket! As I was scouring the fabric store for black fabric to make my Halloween cape, I came across this biting lip patch that I immediately knew was destined for my jacket. Here are some pics below of how the jacket turned out and the rest of my outfit. Enjoy!

Jacket: Calvin Klein (vintage)

Shoes: GU

Skirt: Haramaki (hacked)

Necklace: Bookoff

Bra: Calvin Klein

Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Travel: Hong Kong

First I would like to preface this post by saying I am so proud of myself for travelling on my own for the first time ever! It was a learning experience and I learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of. The trip had some down points including locals taking pictures of me without my permission (I can deal with the stares but come on wtf…) and cab drivers refusing me service most likely because of the color of my skin. Despite these experiences, I met a few great people in my short time in Hong Kong and had some memorable moments while in Asia’s global city. Here are just a few pictures from my trip!
