Night Aquarium

Last Sunday I attended the annual Night Aquarium held in Nihonbashi. It was a great experience to see a cross between art and marine life and I made sure to take lots of pictures! This event runs through September I believe with some special nights featuring a DJ and drink bar (I went on a Sunday and there was no DJ unfortunately ☹️). Check out the pictures I took below!

My new Tokyo apartment!

So hey everyone! I finally moved to Tokyo yayyyy! I’ve been here for two weeks and I’ve spent this time setting up my apartment and getting accustomed to the neighborhood. After all of the cardboard, plastic wrap and unpacked bags, I finally have everything the way I want it. Check out my crib in the pics below!

Loving this clothing rack! It’s always been my dream to have one in my apartment. It was bought as a gift by my Japanese mom, Noriko. It’s the perfect way for me to plan my outfits and see different shapes and patterns come together.
My T.V. area. Peep the BAPE towel! There was a JLo video playing in this picture lol

My casual clothes. I tried to organize everything by color. Excited for fall so I can wear my crazy button downs.
This is my computer and book storage area. Cute, ain’t it? Let’s hope it will encourage me to study Japanese harder 😂
Another cork board with some messages from my students 🌸✨

Bathroom, not fancy but it gets the job done.
Look at my snacks!
My genkan. It’s customary in japan to remove your shoes here before entering a home.
Shoe closet!

See ya soon, I’ll be posting about some new gear I’ve bought since moving. Ciao ☕️

OOTD: I’m wearing pants

Recently I had a day off from work to show my boyfriend around Nagoya. We went to the Nagoya city art museum where we took some cool pictures in this exhibit. Take a look at my outfit! Despite the pictures I AM indeed wearing pants 😜

MoMA

If you know me, then you know I have a keen interest in art, meaning the Meuseum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City was one of the places I had to visit. I was surprised to see how many famous pieces were on display and how many artists I recognized, including my favorite artist of all time, Frida Kahlo. Below are some pictures I took, though they don’t do the art justice. If you ever find yourself in NYC, I HIGHLY recommend paying MOMA a visit! (Friday’s from 4-8 entry is free 😁)

ARTOMATIC 2015

So. Much. Art. Earlier today I went to ARTOMATIC, an art exhibition in Hyattsville, MD. This particular exhibition took place in an office building with the whole structure being covered in pieces of art from paintings, to sculptures and even a full length feature film. It was truly a joy getting to walk around and observe for a couple hours and even better to attend with members of UMD MasTERPiece! Enjoy the photos I got to take of the art below!
